Intern starters this month: Beatriz Torres from Brazil working in Front Office at the Novotel Tower Bridge, Ken Tanaka from Japan working in Rooms Division at Threadneedles Hotel,	Kehinde Ogundare from Nigeria in Front Office at the Marriott Bexleyheath, Kyung Eui Kim from Korea at the Metropolitan Hotel, Javier Hernandes from Spain in Night Audit at the Ritz. Chris Stokes from South Africa in the Bar at Marriott Grosvenor House.
	Visit to Egypt; Rod Hardingham made an intern visit to the Savoy Hotel in Sharm el Sheikh to met the intern students Cecelia (from Bolivia) and Marta (from Poland) who are both working in reception just now during their one year where they will work in a variety of departments. Both girls are loving the experience and enjoy woking in year long sunshine. Their intital worries about living in a mainly moslem country have been proved wrong and they are living in staff accommodation which is itself like a hotel. The management at the Savoy are also very happy with the girls and are keen to recruit more students from LHS.
Christmas Events: The HND students planned prepared and ran two events for Christmas in December. They were both cocktail parties and the first one was butler service style while the second was a buffet. The quality of the food was excellent in both events. During the second event the students sang Christmas carols
	New Schedule. As of January LHS will start the new shedule for new students. This change has been made to reduce the number of assignments the students have to complete over the course of the HND and also to make time for students to research their work in a deeper way.
New Starters: Welcome to new students starting in January.Samitha from Sri Lanka, Ross from S. Africa, Kwang Lim, Bon Kyoung and Bo-Sung from Koea, Yauhenia from Belarus, Yusuf from Turkey, Eric, Wen Yu and Sheng from China.
