February 2008     Chinese New Year in Malaysia

In February Principal Rod Hardingham visited the following countries

Sri Lanka 3rd to 8th February, India (Calcutta) 8th to 13th, Nepal 13th to 15th Thailand 16th Malaysia 17th to 21st. Dubai 22nd. Seychelles 22nd to 26th Bangladesh 27th to 1st March.

Degree starting:

in September 2008 LHS will start to deliver the BA Honours degree in Hospitality Management from Derby University. Students who have completed their HND course can join this programme for a one year top-up to degree level. They should apply to LHS before July 2008 if they wish to join the course. The course will be made up of 7 modules over the course of the year. See information in courses section of the LHS website.

Hi From Matteo Lifoda! Matteo is working in Bangkok in the Mercure hotel for his work placement and enjoying every minute of his time there. He has a well structured training programme throughout the F&B department. He met Rod Hardingham during his recent trip to Thailand.

 Ex student Gianluca Cugnetto also met Rod on his travels. Gianluca is now working in Dubai as manager of the very fashoinable Bussola restaurant there.

February saw the publication of the 2008 prospectus for LHS with lots of new pictures and information about the degree. It is very diferent from the last one as it has a bright colourful cover showing London and hotel scenes.
