Edexcel/BTEC's Higher National Diploma
Higher National Diploma courses in International Hotel Management or Hospitality Management are made up of sixteen coursework assessments. The unique structure of this course divides the subjects into modules and you can start at the beginning of any course module not only in September or January
HND students must have English to the minimum level of IELTS band 5.5 as all assessment is by student assignments (sometimes projects somtimes presentations sometimes research) The Higher National Diploma is completed over twenty five months. The first year consists of twelve months of theory classes and second year of twelve months of working placement in a hotel and a one month final course.
LHS teaches two different versions of the HND, International Hotel Management, and Hospitality management students may choose whichever they want.
YEAR 1 (courses with 1 & 2 modules take two months)

After the work placement: Diversity Management
At the submisssion of the complete first years assignments students then proceed to the work placment year.
YEAR 2 This is a paid position in a hotel. Students choose from Independent hotels, Chain Hotels and Business or Tourist hotels. All hotels are four or five star level and students will in most cases work in Front Office or Food & Beverage positions. They also have to complete two further assignments One during the placment year and one at the end of the work experience year when students return to LHS to complete their final assignment for one month.
