London Hotel School’s work placements are an exciting opportunity to get experience in some of the worlds busiest hotels. London has a huge range of hotels to choose from, and all of the major chain hotels are represented sometimes in quantity (for example there are twenty two Marriott hotels in London). London is also home to some of the most famous independent hotels in the world and students have the chance to work in them all. Typically salaries range from £10,000.00 to £14,000.00 for the year depending on the job and the hotel.
Work placement in a London hotel follows these steps:
The student prepares a curriculum vitae (CV);
- We discuss how to be successful at interviews and the type of job you want to do;
- London Hotel School and the student submit their CV to hotels to find work placements;
- On successful job offer London Hotel School and the hotel make an agreement to legally cover you to work full time;
Work placements are salaried and for a fixed period of time depending on the course you study. The job you do will usually be either within front office or food and beverage.
Students practice what they have learned on their course and also gain valuable experience. Students who then apply for jobs in their home country have a big advantage over local applicants because they have worked in an English speaking hotel and have dealt with hotel guests from all over the world.
British and EU Citizens are frequently offered full time jobs on completion of the HND in their placement hotel.
